Adventure Hydration

Keep a jug of ice water in the car for post hiking hydration. This is in addition to the water you bring on the hike/adventure because somehow, however much water you bring, you usually drink it all (especially when you have kids) on the last push back to the car. Having that extra reserve waiting for you is good for all the thirsty people — and a perfect “carrot” to motivate tired little people to keep going until they get back to the car.
