  2. You got dressed in yoga pants because it was faster.
  3. Half your diet consists of food on the run.
  4. Caffeine is an important part of your day.
  5. You dread homework as much as your kids do.
  6. You’re interrupted, constantly.
  7. Laundry is your other middle name.
  8. You locked yourself in a room for some alone time.
  9. You ran away from home, partially undressed.
  10. You love your family, but you sometimes forget what you love about yourself.

If you answered YES to 4 or more statements, you totally need this trip. If you answered YES to 7 or more, sign up now! Because sometimes moms need a break. And sometimes that break arrives on a surfboard and a yoga mat.

Questions & Answers

What makes this trip special? The best vacations — ones that make the biggest difference — include a few factors: being with genuine people who want to have fun; reaching beyond your comfort zone by trying something new; quality downtime to relax and reassess what is important in life; and being inspired by the people or place.

Do I have to be a mom to attend? Have you ever been to a party where every conversation seemed forced or you felt out of place? That is the opposite of the TOC MOM RETREAT. We want everyone to feel comfortable, to come as they are, to forget about their insecurities and the exhaustion that comes from raising a family. We recognize that when we take a little time for ourselves, we’re better prepared to care for the ones we love. That being said, no proof of your mama status is required.

I am pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I still attend? Yes! However not all activities (like paddling out on a surfboard with a giant belly) are suitable for pregnant women. Please consult your healthcare provider before committing. Nursing babies are welcome. Childcare is not provided, but can be arranged through the resort.

Are spouses and non-nursing kids allowed? No, but contact us if you would like help arranging a family trip before or after the retreat. The experienced staff at Mosaico Travel will be happy to assist you.

I want to attend, but do not plan on doing all the activities. Can I get a discount for unused services? No discounts will apply; however, we support whatever experience is best for you. It’s important to consider what you need from this retreat and plan accordingly.

Assuming I book a double or quadruple-occupancy room, how do I select my roommate(s)? When we collect the final payment, we will also ask for your flight details and the name(s) of your roommate(s). If no one is designated, we will happily introduce you to new friends.

Why is Tropic of Candycorn hosting the retreat? Our goal at TOC is to encourage families to travel — near and far. Since most children’s happiest memories will be away from home, we provide tips and inspiration to make it easier. We also recognize that families are more likely to travel when moms have energy and feel comfortable with a destination. Plus, we’re moms who could use a break too.

Feel free to ask any additional questions in the comments below.

Cancellation Policy

We are unable to offer refunds for cancellations. That’s one of the reasons we urge you to purchase travel insurance; however, you may transfer your package to another mom who is not registered for the retreat by April 15, 2016. This change will result in a $500 transfer fee. Failure to pay by the due date will be considered a cancellation. All payments are non-refundable. No refunds will be made for unused portions of the retreat.

Member Profile
