I’m heading to Cuzco (Machu Picchu) and Lima with a 20 month little boy. Does anyone have any tips for our journey to Peru with a toddler? what would you avoid and what would you do again?

I love Peru with young kids. One thing for sure is don’t bother with a stroller. The streets, sidewalks, and definitely Machu Picchu are not stroller friendly. I would spend some time in the Sacred Valley where he can run and play, but keep him close in Cusco where you will see lots of crowds and sweet Latinas who will want to pinch and kiss those cute cheeks. One of these days, I’ll get around to sharing the six weeks we enjoyed in Peru before TOC went live. Highlights included Moras and Moray, Chinchero Market, trying to pet llamas, and chilling in the town of Urubamba. The horse show and lunch at Wayra Ranch is fantastic. Machu Picchu is magic.
